At the head of the procession of Constellations, as observed from planet Earth on its orbit about the Sun, there is the Ram, leading the parade.

When a papal bull of 1582, the Gregorian Calendar, moves New Year’s Day to January 1st throughout the Holy Roman Empire, the French shrug, and hold two New Year’s Eve parties, the old one with the Ram, and the new one with the Goat.
