“Whoever loves becomes humble. Those who love have, so to speak, pawned a part of their narcissism.” ― Sigmund Freud
Would it be narcissistic to imagine a love story of creation that’s all about Me?
If so, would I be just another personal pronoun?
It it possible that I my Self could care less about Me than Yours truly?
Curiosity regarding I my Self and Me weaves through this creator’s dreams.
In a multi-verse love story created, as it were, of whole cloth, one might dream up infinite answers, perchance to love and deem one good.
Self-awareness is not self-centeredness, and spirituality is not narcissism. ‘Know thyself’ is not a narcissistic pursuit.
— Marianne Williamson
The artist must be in his work as God is in creation, invisible and all-powerful; one must sense him everywhere but never see him.
— Gustave Flaubert
Every creator faces this choice: create for applause or create for the Audience of One. Only the second brings lasting fulfillment.
— Mark Hillis
God is the best artist in the world. Look around. Look in the mirror.

Every artist writes his own autobiography.

In the fabric of space and in the nature of matter, as in a great work of art, there is, written small, the artist’s signature.
— Carl Sagan
Art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world, and letting ourselves be a conduit for passing energy.
— Albert Einstein
Imagination is the voice of daring. If there is anything godlike about God, it is that. He dared to imagine everything.
― Henry Miller

— Khalil Gibran
Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.

God is really only another artist. He invented the giraffe, the elephant and the cat. He has no real style, He just goes on trying other things.
— Pablo Picasso
The paradox about narcissism is that we all have this streak of egotism. Eighty percent of people think they’re better than average.
— Mark Leary
God is an artist par excellence. He has painted the universe with the colors of His love.
— Swami Ramdas

This was beautiful — the art and the poetry both.
Thank you, George, for your participation in the creation story on godslaugh.me, and for your beautiful comment.
“The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
I love these ❤
If you guys published postcards, I would buy them!
~David
The last postcard I bought cost a penny, and the last thought I bought cost a pence, whereas your two-cents is priceless currency, David, whose loveliness increases and will never fade into nonsense. Thank you.
☺️
This post is absolutely stunning – the visual art, the quotes, the haiku. I usually have a line or two that touches me deeply but all of these did. I agree with David. If you ever make post cards, or greeting cards, I’d be one of your first customers.
I’m working on a memoir right now somewhat at my children’s request but also to do some self-discovery. I keep thinking this might be an act of narcissism. This post comes at a really good time for me. Thanks.
Specifically, though, I did love the transitions of the right side panals, and of course the cat. Meow.
